Incredible

Went to see Garrison Keillor at the Tobin Center last night, and let me tell you, if you ever get the chance to see him - go!!  It was an amazing show.  Wholesome, funny, touching - everything you could want.  The entire audience got up and sang the National Anthem, and we all sang Battle Hymn of the Republic as well.  Just a great experience all the way around, so I thought I'd share.

Little pins, needles
Torturing the gray matter
They sometimes call brains

Third Time's a Charm

Sand Queen by Helen Benedict was an excellent read - and definitely the third book I need to use to write about PTSD in female vets. If I can get it together and find a solid focus, it'll make a great paper, but that will have to wait until after I finish working on my new dictionary based on satirical definitions written by the soldiers of WWI.  It's a cool project that I'm having tons of fun with.  Hopefully, it will be publishable, but even if it's not, I've had a blast poring over 100-year-old magazines on microfilm for the past few weeks. That sounded sincere, right? ^_^

Haiku for the Day

Mornings are quite nice
The air is crisp and birds sing
But then...off to work.
