Better than nothing

Read two chapters last night (thanks to Google Books), which in a book of 1069 pages is not that much, but at least I started.  I also picked the actual book up today, so hopefully I can get some reading in later tonight.  I have studiously avoided reading anything regarding the plot of this novel, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on yet, but it will become a little more obvious as time goes by, I suspect.
